| http://www.fpsbanana.com/tuts/2192 That's a neat tutorial for keeping skins with aim laser pointers but removing the pointer, in case you liked the actual model. Check it out | |

| Downloaded it to check it out and just as plague and mystic said, there is no real advantadge with this skin, sure you can see the center of the screen but it doesnt help with no-scoping people at all from what i can see. Its a nice skin and good sound with it as well. Will be getting rid of the skin and keeping the sound tbh | |

| Yeha use that tutorial I posted before, it can get rid of laser without changing skin, because the skin for that scout is actually pretty good.
Is the skin you're all using the Tactical M24

| Right so back to the MY problem, does anyone know a way around it. I heard that most servers just disable skins temporarily but the server I usually go on (Like some SK serv, I forgot name) says I have to delete my game_sounds_manifest.txt file. | |

| Does it say anything else, it may be a specific sound file relating to your skins clashing with somthing on the server | |

| there was a couple different laser skins, one took a while to settle and waved around a bit. One was a lot more stable, and it was definately an advantage. I know cos one of them fell into my steam apps and made its way into my account, then onto my screen ingame, fk knows how it got there | |

| I call bullshit fodder Plague, dont know how to fix it but to make it a bit easier, try making a batch file to rename it and a batch file to rename it back to that file name? should get around it cause steam wont be looking for the changed file name.. Create new text file, rename it from .txt to .bat Edit the file and put the following in (should work but ages since i done this) FILE 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------- @echo on cd c:\Program Files (x86)\SteamDir\locationoffile\ ren game_sounds_manifest.txt game_sounds_manifest.bup -------------------------------------------------------------------- FILE 2 -------------------------------------------------------------------- @echo on cd c:\Program Files (x86)\SteamDir\locationoffile\ ren game_sounds_manifest.bup game_sounds_manifest.txt -------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure the file is actually .bat and not .bat.txt (need to turn off the extension hiding in windows if you dont have it disabled already). Oh and for vista/win7 you will want to change the compatibility settings to run it as administrator otherwise batch files sometimes arent allowed in windows directories.

| well file 1 would change it from the normal file to the bup file (backup) and file two will change it from the backup back to the text file.
That way you have two batch files sitting on your desktop and just need to double click the first one to play on servers that dont allow the skin you have and double click the other one to load it back up. Rather than deleting the file each time.

| One question... Why would you want a scope on a gun which you can't scope with :S
I mean... Looks great... But a little stoopid...
