| If anyone good with skins can help me it would be fantastic. I got a few skins the other day, for my M3, Deagle and Scout and was real stoked. I joined a server and it came up with some stuff about lack of consitancy with game_sounds_manifest.txt (i think) and I went and deleted that file to join that server.
It's a real pain but if I re-downloaded those skins and got the manifest file, how do I join servers that give me that message, even if it means disabling my skins for those servers or something.
I'm really new to skinning so help would be appreciaated, thanks.

| Well first you take it out of the packet then you simply roll it down the shaft. And that is how you apply your skins.

| From a GSP point of view skins are shit, they fiddle with the game and can reduce your FPS. Not only that, some servers have this as either a restriction and wont let you enter because of this consistancy check or they wll let you enter but just remove your skins. | |

| i have a few skins... I have only had a few times when things have been a problem, once trying to join a scrim server, it was enforcing the sound script file and wouldnt let me in, as you did, deleting this file (i simply moved it for the time being) fixed the problem, another problem has been with the textures being pixelated black and purple, which i later discovered was my own fault for trying to overlap 2 different skins on the same weapon... but in any case, heres a few of my fav skins... awp, desinged to look like the barret .50cal with the same matching sound as well, its by far my fav skin... This one is my scout and the world model for the awp... I chose this scout cause its the closest to my rifle i could find This is of the mp5 (based on the call of duty 4 mp5) and the world model of the scout... Haha, thse are the ump (holding) and the p90 (looks alot better while holding it) Ive croppped the shit outa these pics, thats not full screen view... and yeah, i agree, some skins are desinged to give an unfair advantage and shouldnt be aloowed to be used... | |

So sorry but use of laser , blue tack .. or lol the actual circle on the screen.. = teh nub version

| Fletch said.....Really all its doing is replacing the crosshair with a little red dot lol lol, what about no scope?? In that case ur replacing having nothing with a red laser dot, advantage much?? Yeh he says "I'll remove my skins now" Bet you didnt And dont bother showing us a couple of skinless screenies. Sif we'd fall for that old trick | |

| I used to use that scout skin and believe me it has no advantage for no scoping unless you are absolutely still for 2 secs or more, and by that time you are toast in GG | |

| I regularly go to SK servers and if you just use quick swap, having a dot on the screen becomes meaningless as your shooting and swapping so fast you can't rely on it. Besides, the more you use scout and even if your just used to other weapons, you just know where the centre of your screen is anyway. I tried out using the dot yesterday, unless you stand completely still and your at a distance, you barely use it. Don't forget, if your standing still and at a distance your probably scoping anyway.
But I'm not keeping that skin because the scout is too large and it blocks my screen.
