| I'm trying to host a local server from my own computer but I haven't been able to get it working. Whenever I host a server...it says not responding to others.
Now I'm pretty sure I've done all the necessary port forwarding but just so I'm clear, which ports should I have open.
If that's not the problem, could I get some info on what it might be? Kthx. | |

| What port have you set in hlds it be the listen port? That as far as i know should be the only one, try 27015 as the standard one for port forwarding. | |

| OOOOOOOH Wait a minute.... When you host a server, locally, does it have to be via HLDS...? Can't you just use the in-game one? o.O | |

| yea Hamachi is good and you connect over TCP. I used it for flying European Air War online cos there wasn't a dedicated server for the game (Except Gamespy FAIL) | |

| dont host a server from your pc, it will be extreamly crap, after about 5 ppl are in the server it will start lagging like hell. if u want to look more into this, do what i did. build a 2nd pc with nuthin on it, it was just my server, witch stayed on 24/7 was very good, could have about 20 ppl in it before it lagged at all, but it all depends on your net too | |

| It's funny, sv_lan was only the first problem. There were a few others . The main problem was that it was trying to connect my the internal ip so I had to set it to my external one. So anyway, I got the server running. Thanks guys! Awesome server which can host max 6 people is awesome | |
