I gots an old comp and the card is ancient. Trouble is the old cards are like $250 plus. Anyone got an old AGP card layin about or contacts to score one?

And do you young pups know what an old AGP card is??

Every time I have brought this up I'm offered all sorts of cards, contacts and links to sites. All to do with PCI cards!!!!! PCI is no good, gotta be an old AGP.

My processor is still ok cos it was hot as when I got it. I really need a new comp, but with all the lanning we do it would be cool to upgrade mine so I got a reaso spare.

Ha ha Clown, not stolen, just that its still a good comp but the card is screwed. If I get a new comp then the old one would be redundant, but with a good card it would still be a good cs comp for visitors to use eh.

I had a geforce 7600 gt (which I thought was crap) and it fkn cooked bigtime, I've got me old 5900 in now lol. It's a weird 5900 tho, even my tech guy was like "wtf?" when he supplied it, cos it dont match other 5900s, its got the worlds biggest copper heat sync on it eh, fkn huge. I thought it needed upgrading like 2 years ago so I got the 7600gt which was supposed to be good, but after the 5900 I arked up cs all excited and lagged like a fkn bitch and had to turn my settings right down.

Fkn thing was $270 at the time and it was a fkn downgrade from the 5900 instead of an upgrade lol.

They seem like cheap prices woffle, ta for that.

yeah i got an old card here fodder but is pci-e, woulda offered but ya comp is just to 1337 to go by normal standards, always gotta be the trend setter

The 9550 wasn't great when I bought it, it was a cheap, big MB card at the time. While I was playing CS I had the settings turned way down, trying to minimise lag and such, but my PC was shitter, lol. I had/have it in a 1.8Ghz p4 with 1GB ram, so I was fucked from the get go.

I'll donate it to DOA, pass it onto reyne (if you'll catch up with him soonish) and you can whack it in and see how it goes. If it's not what your after, you should be able to use it in a machine for lans and stuff anyway. I still haven't got off my arse and organised finances to donate to the server, so this can do for that untill I get my shit together to make reg doantions. I'll try and find the driver CD's tomorrow, though they'll be old.

This was a funny card. The SE edition had the potential to be "fixed up". There was a better edition of a radeon card (and this is where it gets too tech-y for me) that had 8 pixel pipe lines, and this SE has only 4. But they kind of cheated with about half of the SE cards and instead of not making them with these extra pixel pipelines enabled, they either disabled them, or destryed them. So if the archetecture has not been destroyed, you can actually re-enable the extra pixel pipelines and you end up with this better card.

I've no idea how to do that though, so I never bothered to see if mine was destroyed or diasbled.
