Advertising

Forums are getting busy as lately.

Sunday morning, 8 am, and there's 19 people on the forums lol.

We are trying to work out some way of making money out of advertising on forums and server, to see if we can generate some income.

If all went well the plan would be to fund or partially fund our own server box at some time down the track.

We could be successful and make some $ or we might make fk all, see what happens.

Sounds like a awesome idea fodder hopefully it works out.

Maybe you can make it that if people donate to the server they get to view the forums without the ads... not an original idea... but it works

but that would mean the ads would have to be pretty horrible for it to be worth paying to get rid of them.

horrible no... really annoying yes...

Just need to be careful with the ads, if we have to many and really annoying ones such as fluro flashing colours it will really deter people so need ones that will be visible but sit in the background.
Its a great idea and a good way to make a bit of money to help support the server

They would be the standard google ads that you see around the place, possibly even some xbox ads etc if we can.

Most likely will just be text ads, so not too bad and when there are picture banners they arent normally that bad on google due to IAB industry guidelines.

maybe even get a sponsor for our server, put they're logos on maps, shit like that, name in the motd and server list etc.
