I agree some people can be trigger happy at times, but imo it's better to ban someone for breaking the rules straight out, rather than let them do it over and over and over again before punishing. In the example you give, are you sure you just didn't see a warning? Also, you've implied you had only been on the server for a short time; you might have been the last straw that broke the camel's back so to speak - the last one in a string of offenders at that time and the admin in question had just had enough.

Also, why did you break the rules in the first place? You of all people should know the rules pretty well, what reason is there to break them intentionally?

People have been complaining about admins being too soft recently - now you're complaining about them being too strict. It's impossible to please everyone, but rest assured we do do our best and I believe the majority of the time situations are handled well. Of course there are going to be slipups weather it be miscommunication or just poor judgement, but these things happen.

I can't really say much on this as I have only been doa for a short while so am not versed in the inner workings of the runnings of the clan - however I was under the impression that Cpt positions were given out via a vote system - atleast I know that's how the most recent ones were decided. If you consider that unfair or unjust then what would you say is a better system?
Almost all of the admins are either a cpt of doa or very very long term players in the doa community. It's a game and the running of a server, not a democracy. The owners of the server have the final say at the end of the day, and it is their provocative to do what the will when they will with the server.

As I pointed out in private chat just before - I don't believe personal vendettas came into this. Hayzz has continuously broken rules and pushed boundaries for too long - and it simply caught up with him. He has been banned to my knowledge more than 3 separate times by more than 3 separate admins, and yet still has been receiving regular warnings from admins , leaders and directors. At some stage, enough is enough. It wasn't personal - a discussion was had on what doa members thought was best for the server and a conclusion was reached, rather unanimously. Whining about it because you personally like him is a bit of a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Clearly people need to get in touch with real life.

Therefore a ban from our server would do that. Its like getting to drunk at your favorite bar and causing a massive scene over and over and over. They keep kicking you out and then one day they ban you from there. Other people might like you, but not the important ones. You don't go back and whinge that there not running there pub right and get unbanned. You cop it in the ass and find a new pub.

People have personal vendettas it's a fact of life and people will be banned because of them, that's why you can appeal your ban :/
And this ban wasn't a case of a vendetta anyway.

There are plenty more pubs out there (so to speak) find a new one.

may i ask where the ban report for Leeroy is?

I banned so many people this weekend that I thought he was another Rand who wasn't worth a ban report. I can do one tomorrow, it was only half an hour but thy was about to ban him too. If I see him camping again it will be a lot longer.

So banning someone forever seems a little over the top you think. Got to remember that some younger kids playing on here, and from my understanding with servers even fodder can get into shit if people a spraying porn sprays. they do it once they will come back and do it again.
So if people still thinks its to long change it i dont mind but i always went to perm ban for porn sprays.

i agree with rumpig, having been warned twice for spraying the porn spray, once is usually acceptable as you can "forget" what your spray is but if you do it twice your asking for trouble.

Did they respond when you warned them, and did you warn them both over voice and chat (required)?

Then there's the possibility that it might have been a friend/relative on their account just mucking around. A perm ban is very excessive for a problem that could have been solved just as well with a shorter ban

Could we please add a clause in the MOTD that states that by clicking OK they agree to adhere to all the rules and are subject to being punished by admin if they disobey with the rules? It just means that they have no leg to stand on when they are done for something like this... Just a thought.

well i actually warned the guy first time, saw it and straight away on mic nice and clear "whoever sprayed that porn spray please do not do it again as there will be a punishment involved" even had some dudes saying, "oh where is it" "i wanna see it" there was talk about it.

he did it again and so i went into admin and did the tag person finder thingo and i pressed the "kick and ban for 120minutes" didnt bother about steam ID as i thought i only got him for 120mins. but apparently it looks like rumpig got a permo done on him. i thought i got him but apparently rum did.

it wasnt a spray like what fodder was talking about. was a chick licking out another chick. they were actually some pretty hot young girls so yeah not really offensive to me or prob most of the guys here but its still in the rules and its still a no no.

I had a mate use my account once. He used a porn spray on a fun server once and no one cared. I got on and went to my normal server. Game arena and got permed..

I was devo. Sent unban tickets and everything. Got unbanned in the end but it was fucked.

Therefore anyone. Porn sprays, hacks etc. If it's a perm it should be written up so people can object. Just incase.

I think only reoffenders with just a straight porn spray should be permed as a shorter ban will more then likely solve the problem if they are just doing it for a laugh cause they will probs just pick random servers and not rejoin

There has been debate and speculation on whether brutus was hacking or not.

If anyone bans a reg for hacking, you SHOULD take a demo first, no matter how certain you are. If it's a reg there is bound to be a shitstorm after it so come with some proof.
