Left 4 Dead 2 (With Gore)

Hey Guys,

Ive found a temp way to play left4dead2 with gore. Unfortuantly it disables all acheviements and you cant play via steam. Now this doesnt require you to buy the game from another country you just need access to your steam files. Now this is a little fiddly and some people may not wana do it.

First go to the following folder;

C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common
There should be a file called steam_appid.txt
Changed the 550 to 510
Then save the file.

Then go to;

C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\left4dead2
There should be a file called steam.inf
Change the 550 to 510

Now once this is done you need to play on your own dedicated server. I am in the process of creating a dedicated server that the public will be able to play.

Let me know if you have any issues.

Or you could just do it like Open and I did and get it from the UK store. We can play with gore on Aus servers and it's sweet as

yeah but this is for people who have bought the game already from australia and would like to play with gore, if you haven't purcahsed it yet then yes what Open said is the way to go.

how much does it end up costing when purchasing from the UK store? as it would be in pounds yeah?

um as per opens email is around the 29.99 so in aussie $ it would be $54.40 mark at the current exchange rate.

Apparently Edgers owns two versions of L4D including the Aussie version.

Best to do the england route, if i buy it then gift to aus, the exchange rate works out to around $55-58 yet edgers said only costs $48 after conversion.

Edgers do you leave the mailing address as your real Aussie addres cause it wouldn;t let me use credit card because my mailing address differed from the card address. Was worried I would get the crap version if I had my billing address in the wrong country.

They might have fixed it. I think I was able to keep my address as it was.

The other option is to get someone from overseas to gift you it

prob get the four pack with some mates but will discuss when I am rich

sweet, dont know the pebble/nail to money conversion rate at the moment, so yeah np, whenever just let me know
