Brisbane lan???

Hey guys,

More than anything, just looking to see if we'd have the numbers to support this.
Thinking hiring a hall or whatever for the night and getting whomever from around this part of the world in for a lan.

Would any of the local doa regs be in for this??

Yeah, I was thinking that it would have to be organised well in advance. Figured it'd be relatively easy to get 10-15 guys/girls in and that way cover the hall cost pretty easily (aim would be to keep it under $20/head for hall cost).

Oh, and if you really really felt the need to do the speed dating thing that go's on at my work on Friday nights. I was surprised, there have only been a few ppl I've seen going to it who look like they're axe-murderers.

i might be able to help for the brisbane lan boys. Can see if i can use the old man's warehouse. already gave me a yes for the last one i was going to hold. we can make it about 24 odd aswell if we get numbers, heaps of mates here who will play..
This will save cost on getting a hall and we can spend money on other things..

lol hahaha. see while ago i was trying to plan a 32 player lan didnt get to happen to busy.
But things to get would be tables and chairs. and a port a loo. to much stuff in the office for a drunk person to break.
dont really want ppl walking past a $250000 machine.
But i will check with the old man when we have a date best would be a saturday, gives me time to clean up afterwards.

Yeah A saturday will work for me. so long as it's not a big saturday like Riverfire or Around the easter weekend or something... otherwise I won't be able to get it off. Oh and I'll have to make sure it's not around Exams and assignment times too.

Well, that gives us 5 ppl! I think that Monster and i will be able to provide for the networking side of things. If I get my ass into gear I may even be able to get my 2nd computer up for file sharing... but only patches and other game essentials of course

Mate also has a 10/100 port i think its either 20-24 port.

There is internet here but isnt super fast so will only be good for steam/msn chat i guess.

I have 2 8 port gigabit switches and an 8 port gigabit router. Between Monster and I we can prob get 10 too... but I'm thinking we try to get as many of our DOA guys and regs in to start our numbers... then we can fill up our other spots with rand's. Not sure about when my assignments are due as yet... damned QUT not letting me know til 0 week!!!

Yeah I can get a 24 or 48 port switch from work and have an 8 port at home but they are all 10/100. Of course this is fine for css. Doesn't matter about internet Rummy cause we can all go into offline mode and then create a server.

btw end of March/beginning of April sounds awesome - I'd prefer beginning of April but that's just me. How much space are we going to have and will there be enough power outlets?

power i can run from all over the warehouse. heaps of room. will get a photo and show you..
all good about server from offline, have run a few lan's . mates of mine we have done about 14 now...

Just need to know if anyone has loaded the gg mod as i think i still have gg4 in dm version.

I'm in Qld and I could probs spare a day or so to come to a lan. I need at least 2 weeks notice tho to get the time off work and to compensate my Uni work.

Would love to meet all Brissie guys tho. I know Facestomp would be interested too. He does not visit the forums tho so we will need to tell him in-game.

Great news!!!! I may have my new comp by then. Only been saving up for it for the last year. No more excuses for me, doh.

Face has already spoken to me about getting Brissie guys together for a drink so I'm sure he'd be keen as.

Yeah I got rid of the gg5 mod cos it was fucking with some of the shit I was trying to do a while back... It's easy enough to get it back on tho.

maybe get dieslow in too.. hes from around the parts isnt he?
