Achievements Idea

Hey to anyone interested, I had this idea a few days ago and I think it'd be cool.

Basically I reckon we should have an achievements list on the server. IE
you win a map with no deaths (woot griev) you get that achievements,
you win 5 rounds in a row,
you get a double kill with scout
you knife two people in 5 seconds
you knife three people in 10 seconds
10000 kills

I don't actually know if this is possible, and even if it is i'm probably just making a huge amount of work for someone (<3 mutant)

I always love the achievements on tf2 and l4d and heaps of other games, and i think it would get alot more people involved with the server. Also, with all the excellent people in the community, we could think of some EPIC achievements, maybe even have something that if a reg/clan member does something truly awesome, thats added to the list and everyone else has to try get that.

Yeah it can be done, I've seen this kind of thing on eventscript.

I like the idea personally, downside is there would be achievement whore just like there are on tf2 and l4d.

Studies show in games achievements (especially easy one) = sales.
So DOA server achieves = more players?

i think this would be an awesome idea!
would so get more people playing constantly and keeping numbers up!

but wouldnt some people maybe abuse this??

if there are only a couple of people on the server people might just let someone get their 4 knife kills real quick.

but yeah i like the idea of achievements

i reckon achievement whores are always gonna be there, can't get rid of them, but who cares? so what if a few people dedicate substantial amounts of their time to getting all the achievements, and earn the respect of all of us... oh wait that wouldn't happen.

for me at least, achievements are there to add a bit of fun while playing, adds a bit of pressure if i'm on a hot streak to not die at all, and especially if someone else is on a hot streak, adds pressure to me to stop them bwahahah.

yeah i think achievements is an gg addon? you can download it from gungame5 forums im sure there are older versions for gg4 on eventscripts addons downloads

Cool idea Open, could be an added attraction to the server eh, good one

and have the event signified by a voice over e.g. fodder "Sif get 10 knives a round, numbers you hacker"

good way to turn rans into regs.. they'll have sumtin elese to strive 4 apart from win the map , and 4 noobs like me its like the full moon once a month lol, doa has a lot of awsome players

Win a map after drinking a full slab

haha yeah thats a good idea, have achievements named after certain people or something. or achievements specific to peoples maps or something along the lines of that.

so say have mystics crystal map, an achievement in which you win that map 10 times or something and the achievements is named after mystic. (if its doable that way )

might make other people interested in making custom maps for DOA in order to have their own achievement

Admin abuse award - ban 5 people in a minute

I'm seriously liking this idea, I'll get on to fodder and Geoff and see what they think, few other things are more important at this stage.

But achievements picked and made by the community is what I'm keen on, every month or so add new ones made by the community

Anti camp award - dont get slapped for an amount of time
